Yuroke Vineyards was established at the Simmie family property in Yuroke in 1997. The Vineyard is situated in rural Victoria, 10 minutes north of the Melbourne Airport and is 300 metres above sea level.
We first planted to Shiraz followed by Pinot Noir in 1999.
The grapes were originally supplied to Southcorp Wines at Great Western. First vintage for Yuroke Label was in 2002, a Shiraz which won bronze at Ballarat Wine Show. The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon/ Shiraz blend won Silver at Daylesford Wine Show.
The 2005 Shiraz was given 90 points by James Halliday. The red wines were matured in French oak.
